After a year-long postponement, My-Lan and FX finally brought 30 of their closest friends and family members to the Basque Country (Southwest of France) to join them for two ceremonies : the traditional Vietnamese ceremony (that you can learn further about here) and the legal French wedding celebration. Surrounded by the textures and the colors of the Vietnamese culture, guests where able to experience a different type of celebration of love and family through generations. As my first introduction into the Vietnamese culture of marriage, I feel very honored for being part of this day, filled with love, joy and happiness.
Following the Vietnamese ceremony, the day continued with the celebration of their civil wedding at the town hall’s village of My-Lan’s parents live. Civil union is a mandatory step by the French law for your marriage to be legally recognized. It’s your first “I do”s! Afterwards, we drove to “La ferme Ostalapia”, a very typical Basque restaurant that serves heartwarming food.
