Lake Como undeniably ranks among the most enchanting destinations I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in Italy. Despite the brisk early spring weather, the experience was truly delightful. It was over the Easter weekend, with the added charm of the festivities hosted by the city of Como, that I had the privilege of photographing a breathtaking wedding at the exquisite Villa Pizzo.
Villa Pizzo not only has an incredibly convenient location just 10 minutes from the town of Como but also a thoughtfully designed property capable of accommodating over 150 guests for your wedding. In addition, at this wedding venue you will be able exchange vows by the picturesque Lake Como, make a grand entrance via boat, and shoot some intimate couple portraits in the garden as a newlywed couple.
This day was creatively orchestrated by Travelling Weddings by Taylor and her team, resulting in a day that was nothing short of stunning for photography. The style was a harmonious blend of antique romance and modern aesthetics, exemplified by the bride’s three exquisite wedding dresses. The majestic ball gown and its cape were from Monique Lhuiller, and the two other dresses from Made Bride. The intricate fabrics and textures provided captivating subjects for my photography. The groom perfectly complemented the bride’s lavish attire with his relaxed suit from Don Morphy.
When you’ll visit Villa Pizzo while scouting for your wedding venue, you’ll be captivated by the extensive garden built on different levels, adding a fascinating dimension to the location and infusing it with charm. The interior decor will enchant you with its romantic and tastefully decorated rooms, featuring antique furniture, sculptures, and wall paintings, all seamlessly integrated without overwhelming the senses. Villa Pizzo is a true architectural gem set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of Lake Como.
Choosing a stunning location like Lake Como for your wedding often leads to the dreamy prospect of a newlywed boat ride under the beautiful sunset. And that’s precisely what my bride and groom decided to do! The golden hour light on Lake Como is like no other. It creates a glow on the water and a warm stroke on the surrounding hills. I was particularly captivated by the elegant lines of the wooden boat from the Como Classic Boats. Wooden speed boats are really that between blend classic design and modern technology.
Whether you opt for an intimate moment alone on the boat or wish to be photographed from the same ship, the magic of this experience is truly unparalleled. For this reason, these are pictures that you’ll never forget!
